Happy New Year!
I look forward to your support again this year.
The events in Japan and North America that closed out 2008 had us run a little ragged, but now all the developers are refreshed and motivated to tackle a new year of FFXI.
Oh, and the FFXI development team had a little move at the end of the year. Until now, we’ve been bustled and bumped around by all the other projects taking place on the same floor, but now the XI team has a whole special development room all to ourselves. It really helps us focus and work together as a team more than ever before.
For the first video of the year, I thought why not look back on a classic. This week’s video was made shortly before the conclusion of the ToAU storyline and is a parody of “Lady Boogiewoogie YATTODETAMAN” …. so maybe we can get Elmer to tell us what it is…. Anyway! This video displays some amazing fanart and I hope you enjoy it.
I was browsing through the music store today and came across these little beauties. Unfortunately, there are no in game items included, but meh- both are available for $9.99 in the American iTunes Store.
Best wishes for a happy New Year to adventurers around the world!
It is due in no small part to your dedication and valor that the citizens of the war-torn three nations of Vana’diel can continue to live in safety and peace. Why, even the moogles’ latest enterprise, the Buffalo Bonanza Ranch, is off to a rip-roaring success of a start!
Or is it?

Massively.com’s free form column ‘Why you should be playing..’ takes on Final Fantasy today and describs the new Level Sync feature as being “like City of Heroes sidekicking, but on steroids” They even mention the Bahamut server saying that more people were logged on than ever before with many of them being in lower level areas such as Qufim Island.

Hi everyone! I’m Miroku from the Asura server. Over the lifespan of Pet Food Alpha, I have been what some would call a news hound. Being a college student, I often find myself looking through various forums and studying up on game mechanics, as procrastination is often viewed as going hand in hand with good hard learning Because of this, the hosts of this wonderful Podcast have given me the opportunity to report my findings first hand to the best Final Fantasy XI community on the Internet. I hope to bring you enjoyable and informative content as well as get to know the community better. ^^
This is a fun activity we would like to spread across the various forum communities and blogs related to Final Fantasy XI. There’s no contest or prize involved, but we thought it would be interesting to see the kinds of accomplishments that are important to each set of players.
Anyone can participate: big forum communities, Linkshell forums, personal blogs… just Pingback and you’re added! If you can’t Pingback, you can send an e-mail to elmer@jpbutton.com and ask to be added manually.
Issue 28 of the Final Fantasy XI Newsletter is out today and covers the newly announced add-on scenarios, the December update, and of course Fan Festival 2008. You can see the newsletter online here.
