A couple weeks ago we had Anderina on our show to talk about The Speed Gamers Final Fantasy marathon for ACT Today.
Today the marathon begins and it was announced that Final Fantasy XI will indeed be getting its own time slot (streaming the morning of the 24th courtesy of Anderina). The marathon will run from today until July 24th. The event will be streamed and be accompanied by a commentary feed and chat so that viewers may interact with the event.

Last night was great in the first few hours of the marathon. To kick it off there was over 1000 people in the chat room and it just went up from there. They started with FF1 and completed it in under 7 hours. At about 11pm EST the guys made a Digg article that had 274 responses within a hour and hit the front page. Help support the cause and add your digg too. After less then 24 hours the total donations are over 2k and rising.

Yes Britt said last night in the commentary that NobodyX will do some FFXI gameplay with a new character being started to show how it all works.
I was watching a bit last night as well, around 600 viewers at 4 in the morning. FFXI was mentioned a couple of time, last I heard being a Friday time slot. Whenever they’re on we should all turn up and help out.
Last night was long night for the guys but they went over of the 5k mark in donations. This morning they are playing FFIV on the DS using a special holder and cam they made. Yesterday they completed FFVI in 6 hours !!
Well who knows who did it but in the last hour CNN got hold of the guys and now there 12k of people in the chat room and they are over 17k in donations. Thanks to who ever did that, where ever you are.
I am really impressed with the whole marathon. TSG are doing excellent on donations, they are getting plugs from everywhere including radio and news stations. The commentators are absolutely hilarious and are great motivators for donations. I love all of the crazy stuff they do for donations, it’s really addicting to watch. Keep up the great work TSG!
