So this past week I finally got a new mic. But its not just any mic.

No sir.

It’s an MXL 990, this mic was recommended by Aniero over at LBR, it’s one of the mics they use to do their recording. The biggest issue for me wanting a new mic was that annoying popping sound I’m sure you’ve all heard on the episodes. It’d occur when my headset moved or the cord on the headset moved, it was very hard to avoid and even more difficult to try and edit out. So I wanted to look into getting a desktop mic.

Nabuto was gracious enough to let me steal his mixer for the mic, after all you cant use the mic if you don’t power it (i almost feel like an expect after talking to Aniero haha). So far I haven’t had any issues with it. I’ll be recording this weeks episode with it so we’ll see how it goes.
