Santa Dynamis finally bestowed me this awesome gift, finally making me 6/6 on BLM relic!

Also, I finally got my hands on some ether leather, so this will be waiting for me when I log on:

And to make things even more exciting, my Nyzul static got three more successful runs under their belt, so now we’ve completed floor 55–more than halfway there!  We even saw Argus last night…unfortunately, he just dropped a Regen Collar.  Oh well, I pretty much called that one  :P

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this or not, but there ARE other games on the planet besides FFXI.  Can you believe that?  I couldn’t!

LOL, j/k, but I have been favoring the console side of the house recently, especially with all the great games coming out.  I had mentioned on a prior episode that I had picked up Eternal Sonata again and discovered that my file had been deleted, forcing me to start over.  Now, I’m almost exactly where I left off before…damn near close to the end of my first playthrough.  Being a music lover and an RPG fan, I knew I would love this game, and it has yet to disappoint.  Plus the combat system is really fun.  I think I’m going to put it down after I finish the first playthrough though so that I can concentrate on some of the other things coming down the tubes or that I’m in the middle of.

Like Kingdom Hearts.  Yet another game where I lost my save file and am starting from scratch.  KH2 came out when I was in Korea and I’ve had it almost since the release…but I still haven’t played it yet.  Yes, I already know it’s amazing.  But I don’t want to start it until I’m done with KH1.  Plus, remember I have all three major consoles, a PS2 in the spare bedroom, Oshi’s PSP, and my DS.  Makes concentrating on one game at a time difficult.

Our newest toy is Fallout 3.  From the few hours I’ve played it, it’s incredible.  Then Oshi started playing it and I haven’t been able to get it back since L But I digress.  I also haven’t touched Infinite Undiscovery yet and The Last Remnant is coming out this month.  Rock Band 2 is releasing their 20 free tracks next week I believe.  Oh yeah, and I also need to finish Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy.  And Oshi picked up the 360 version of Assassin’s Creed (we had the PS3 version already) so we can get achievements (we only spent $20 on it, so it wasn’t that big of a deal.  Plus I had seen it but hadn’t played it because I’m sorta semi-protesting PS3 and their lack thus far of really decent games).  So what’s been stopping me?  I’ll give you one guess…the same game that I’m sure has stopped many of you from doing many things…my eternal timesink.  Four jobs to 75 and fishing every single Moat Carp for Lu Shangs will do that to you  :P (only 7000 to go!)

But I think I’m going to get on today and get a group of people to help me fight the bat for Evisceration.  Then I’ll grab an extra tag for Wednesday’s Nyzul, then head to Dynamis-Sandy for two hours before I go to bed.  Or I may just say “Screw it!” and finish Eternal Sonata.  That has yet to be decided.

And to make things even better, I’ve started getting up early for PT so that I can be ready when I go to my next unit.  Getting back in shape this time isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.  I think the fact that I haven’t been laying around for the past 6 months and have gotten to the gym on an occasional basis (if not as much as I had liked, especially in the past month) is working to my advantage.  But I have about 20 pounds to shed, so I have much work to do!  But why does PT have to happen before the sun comes up?  I think that’s the worst thing for my body to adjust to…getting up at a quarter to six every morning now.  Means cutting my recording time on PFA short so I can be in bed at a decent hour.

I got my confirmation for Fan Fest yesterday.  That makes this whole thing feel much more real.  I’ve been talking to my supervisors and they may give me a pass instead of leave, which means I get to save those days for later!  I’m not going to know much until my pass is approved, but I’m putting in early just in case I do have to end up taking leave (which I have plenty of days of).  I tend to be on the cynical, pessimistic side, so I’m still not counting my chickens, but the idea of finally meeting those dweebs I record with (and Chin) is so exciting!  I really consider Fus, Steak and Chin more like family than anything else.  I definitely hope we get to gather for more things to come!

For those of you who are registered, get out there and vote today!  Regardless of the outcome, this is a historic election, so get involved!  All I have to say after seeing how long the lines are for the polls is thank goodness for absentee ballots!  I voted weeks ago  :P

Also known as:  Look at me in 5/5 WAR relic!  ROFL

Update coming soon, I promise!

So I’ve been working to get my THF up to 37 to have it as a sub.  Both of my recent parties have been level sync parties–my first one was a fun level 30 party in Yhoater Jungle where I gained 2 levels in one night.  We had a pretty good mix from a level 60 WAR (who got 61 in that party XD) to a level 30 RDM who was pretty new to the game.  I also managed to get some skill ups on my crappy marksmanship, so that was nice.

Tonight I logged on knowing that I only had about an hour or two to play.  I was invited to a level 34 level sync party in Behemoth’s Dominion.  I have been playing this game for over 4 years and this was the first party I had ever done there, but the bats are pretty good xp.  Anyways, it was me and another THF, RDM, BRD and two 75 SAM/NINs, which seemed to be a pretty bad idea to me w/o voke.  We made it work, but bats were flying everywhere.  When I got there I was happy to learn that this was a one hour party because that was all the time I really had to play.  So we’re moving along, steadily, but not exactly smoothly, and I’m about 1.5k tnl (but I wasn’t planning on saying anything anyway because I really didn’t want to stay in that party.  I figured I could solo the rest).  Well, we get the 5 minute warning and the BRD goes and pulls a bat…and links it with another bat.  Lullaby is resisted (of course) and there are two bats going all over the place.  So we try and kill the first one while the BRD and the RDM (who we were level synced to) try to zone the link.  One of our SAMs has hate and level sync is turned off because the RDM zoned.  The SAM becomes 75 again…and has 40 HP.  The bat does Blood Drain and kills the SAM.   Now remember that level sync has offically turned off…so he lost XP as his 75 SAM, not 35.  His buddies in the party were ragging on him and I thought that was the funniest thing I had seen from level sync so far.

So I didn’t get my level.  But I didn’t lose xp either  :P

Yes, as most of you know, I have been going WHM relic crazy in my last few Dynamis runs.  I already had the head and the feet, but in the last few runs I’ve completed, I’ve found myself lucky to walk away with a few fine pieces (and spending a huge majority of my points, which probably makes most of the RDMs in the LS breathe a collective sigh of relief that I am no longer point-wise in the hunt for RDM relic hat…at least for now!  :P).

I also picked these (what I call “assless chaps”) up, making me 5/5 on my WAR:

Relic pic will come soon!

I even scored a “throw-away” item that dropped that nobody else wanted (and no, it was NOT PUP lol).  I kinda think that it’s sad that a job I don’t yet have to 75 is 2/5 on relic and my RDM (which is at 75) still has yet to receive a piece XD

I’m guessing SE wants me to choose SMN as my next 75?  lol

Still having issues w/ my health.  I slept wrong on my neck and woke up Sunday to what I thought was a crick..but it still has not gone away as of Thursday night.  My range of motion is better, but the pain is still really bad…so I went to the doctor today and they prescribed my Vicodin and Flexeril for the pain, which helps quite a bit…just leaves me loopy and unable to drive.  My anniversary is on Saturday and Oshi and I are taking a dinner cruise, so I’m hoping that the pain has died down enough to where I don’t have to take the pain meds so I can have a glass of champagne on the boat if I want to.  Tomorrow we’re supposed to see one of our favorite comedians at the comedy club, so I’m looking forward to that.  As long as I’m not driving anywhere, I’m good!

In other news, I talked to my LS leadership and they have no issues with me taking a break from endgame for awhile.  I’m going to concentrate on my fishing, meriting, and getting Oshi to 75 on BLM, and maybe even doing a few quests.  My LuShang’s progress is coming along–I’ve caught 1769 of those suckers so far and my fishing skill is currently at 34.  I’m kinda hoping to have my Shang’s by the time I am done with my endgame break.

Anyways, more later!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their best wishes on my birthday. Oshi really worked to make it a good celebration for me. We had dinner at my favorite restaurant (the Melting Pot, which is a fondue restaurant) and he gave me a beautiful matching diamond pendant and earrings set in 14K white gold. He really did his part to make me feel like a princess <3

Game-wise, more of the same going on. We seem to have broken our string of Wleg-less Kirins last week, which was somewhat a relief. I did another Dynamis-Tavnazia run and we got a WHM body drop (congrats Kelia!). Last night, we got our first relic for the ToAU jobs—COR boots (congrats Zandru!). Oshi and I duoed the Kraken Club BC and while we didn’t get the drop, we came out with a little bit more money than we started with, which is always good. After they finished the update, I level sync-ed with Oshi’s BLM (which is currently 63) and we got about 10k together in Bibiki Bay. It works out for the both of us—Oshi has an experienced duo partner, and I have the opportunity to cap my buffer, and get merits and conquest points. We’re going to head to Newton Movalpolos next and hopefully we can get a few coffer key drops off the bats. I also want to get started on the WoTG nation quests soon. We’re supposed to do a few ZNMs this week as a LS as well.

Lately, I’ve been having a tough time really getting into endgame. Usually I like hanging out with my LS and doing things together, but lately, I’ve just wanted to get back to basics, leveling, fishing and meriting a bit. I think I’m in a rut and I’ve thought about asking my LS for a break from endgame for a bit. I’m not absolutely sure that’s what I want though, so I’m going to hold off for a bit. I just volunteered to start doing the update page for the LS so we’ll see if that doesn’t do something to help my motivation.

Classes started again for me today (this time, it’s US Government), so it’s back to the books. This course doesn’t look too hard though. On Saturday, we have our first Dynamis-Xarcabard since the update, which will be interesting. I’m still missing pieces for my WHM and RDM there, but I don’t expect to get RDM yet (too many others saving points up). Of course, I’ve been saving up points as well, but it’s mostly to get my Sorcerer’s Belt and finally be 6/6 on BLM. I’m 4/6 on WAR (missing legs and belt), 2/6 on WHM (only have head and feet) and (lol) 0/6 on RDM (I have hope my first piece will come soon!). I also figure it’s about time for my LS to head back to sea, but I honestly don’t know what we’re doing next. I could use another break (lol).

Well, maybe not for making money, but for fishing up Moat Carp, the oasis in Eastern Altepa Desert is awesome! Last night while we were recording the show, I went out to this fishing spot with my level 32 fisher. The only fish I was pulling up were sandfish (which I can get skill-ups from) and Moat Carp. After I got off Skype for the night, I took an amazing 91 Moat Carps to the NPC, bringing my total to 923 (it would have been more, but I ran out of bait). While it’s true that sandfish don’t net me as much gil as Gold Carp, the incredible amount of Moat Carp I’ve been pulling up makes it worth it. However, I am starting to notice that fish are starting to get a bit more active then the ones I’m used to pulling up, meaning that it’s starting to take even more skill to deplete their energy bar. Just a little something to help improve my fishing skill for when I’m pulling up the big fish.

As I mentioned on the show, I’ve been pretty busy in game as of late. I did my first Dynamis-Tavnazia, which was a lot of fun. My LS isn’t trying to clear it yet, we’re just learning the zone, getting our feet wet, and farming a bit of AF—and we got a WHM -1 body (congratulations Sorencia!). Spent a lot of last week farming sky pops and we popped Seiryu, Suzaku and Byakko last weekend. We did get some pants from the kitty (both his signature pants and an abjuration for Shura Haidate). I did a little soloing and duoing (with Oshi’s BLM) on my SMN and got it to 56 and scored a nice pair of Summoner’s Bracers in Dynamis-Bastok.

Oshi and I also spent a huge amount of time camping Centurio X-I, the NM who drops the Shaman’s Cloak. We actually need two—one for Oshi’s BLM and one for my SCH. Oshi has done some camping while I’ve been at work or asleep, but whenever I was awake and at home, I was in Quicksand Caves helping him. He made quite a bit of gil stealing mythril beastcoins off the placeholders :D. Centurio did not want to drop that cloak. Then finally, I got a call when I was at work yesterday from Oshi saying that he finally got the cloak after his 7th claim. He actually got killed by the NM and had to home point. There was a tarutaru SMN also there camping Centurio, but I guess he was AFK because he got aggro and died. Meanwhile Oshi got back to Quicksand Caves and the NM was still alive. He managed to kill it and get the cloak. One down, one to go! Ugh…

When we weren’t camping Centurio or doing LS events or duoing, we were finishing WoTG quests and missions. We finished the mission storyline first, which if you haven’t done is absolutely awesome. SE is doing an incredible job with this storyline and I really hope they don’t do what they did to the Aht Urghan storyline and rush anything or cut it short. After that, I had already finished the Bastok storyline (soloing everything on BLM XD), but I went ahead and helped Oshi with his instanced fight. Then we finished out the Sandy storyline.

First, let me say that the last NM in the Sandy storyline (at least at the moment) is in the absolute WORST place in the world. To begin with, the ??? is surrounded by gnoles.

About the only way to avoid aggro is to get lucky, wait to pull the mob when the gnoles turn around and try to pull it somewhere safer. Oshi caught aggro from the Orcish Bowshooter that was on top of the tower, then two gnoles saw him 5 seconds later. We tried to fight through and I slept the two gnoles, but we both ended up dying. Since I was on WHM and didn’t have my RR up, I HPed and came back to give Oshi a Raise III. I tractored him to a “safe” spot (nowhere is safe in this area, trust me) and a very nice Sprite Raise IIIed Oshi for me. :D We waited for his weakness to wear and went under the tower to get our CS. While we knew we were going to get aggro, we said “Screw it!” and fought the NM right there. We had two gnole links, which I slept, then after the NM was dead, we immediately dove into CS again. When I got out of CS, one of the gnoles had despawned. The other one woke up and raped my face. Luckily after it raped my face, it disappeared. I reraised, Oshi got out of CS, then I immediately casted Recall-Jugner and got us the heck out of there! Maybe more death than was necessary, but we still have a fun fight. And damn Fusionx and Steak! I had the Mentos Commercial going through my head the entire time! -.-

After we finished up Sandy, Oshi started the Windy quests. We had already gotten an 108 Knot Quipis, so Oshi was able to get through his quests fairly easily (I was on the last quest, so once again, I had to wait for my slowpoke husband to finish :P) Oshi showed up to the BC on NIN, with Katanas when I specifically told him he needed an AoE WS, so even though it was late and I had to go to work the next day, I waited for him to change. I was on BLM this time and the instance was easy with him on MNK and me aga-ing everything in sight. Very fun, very fast, very easy. In fact, when we killed the NM, we had already killed the other mobs in the fight area, so we were ported out immediately.

I honestly don’t know if I could choose a favorite between the three nations storylines. I love dark, sinister element of Bastok’s storyline, the quirky, funny storyline from San d’Oria (a nation which has never really been all that known for comic relief—refreshing to see SE do it here) and the intrigue laced throughout the Windurst quests. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next!

This week is a free week for the LS, so I’ll be fishing, meriting, and chillin. We’re adding an Einherjar run to Sundays now, so we’ll be doing it twice a week, which I’m excited about. I’ve finally finished out my axe merits, so now it’s time to move onto something else. I’m either going to finish out Convert recast, enfeebling merits, or finally get around to learning Warrior’s Charge. I haven’t really decided yet.
