For the first video of the year, I thought why not look back on a classic. This week’s video was made shortly before the conclusion of the ToAU storyline and is a parody of “Lady Boogiewoogie YATTODETAMAN” …. so maybe we can get Elmer to tell us what it is…. Anyway! This video displays some amazing fanart and I hope you enjoy it.

Massively.com’s free form column ‘Why you should be playing..’ takes on Final Fantasy today and describs the new Level Sync feature as being “like City of Heroes sidekicking, but on steroids” They even mention the Bahamut server saying that more people were logged on than ever before with many of them being in lower level areas such as Qufim Island.

snap0015A recent thread has sprung up on the Allakhazam forums featuring this image. It shows the Magus Sisters, who have been a summon in some past Final Fantasy games. However, when looking at the games they have been in, it shows ‘XI’. Could it be that the Magus Sisters are one of these new avatars that the development team has been saying is coming out soon? They did mention that they would be ‘different’ in some way, and having 3 things summoned instead of one would definitely fit that category.

odinmovingAfter a recent attempt to move people from the Odin server, Square Enix has come out today and announced that in spite of their attempts to offer free transfers to other servers, that Odin is still over populated. Because of this they will be offering world emigration again. While that is all fine and dandy, there is one part of this recent post that upsets players.

In case the emigration campaign and the above measures have no effect on the congestion of the Odin world, measures such as forced transfers to other worlds or splitting the Odin world into a number of separate worlds may be considered.

For the last few weeks we’ve been hearing quite a bit about the Mythic Weapons. Last month, someone forced screen shots and led the community to believe that they had completed the Puppetmaster weapon ‘Kenkonken‘. Then we received word that a Blue Mage working on his Tizona made it all the way to the final BCNM fight against Balrahn, but lost. At this years Fan Fest, attendees were able to participate in the BCNM ‘The Swarm’ and try out some of these weapons.

Today we hear the story of Jackyl from the Garuda server and member of the SapereAude linkshell who is the first documented person to obtain a mythic weapon. His weapon of choice? The Paladin weapon ‘Burtgang

rxformmoThe title says it all!

The January issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) has an article by James Mielke who says that it is rumored Square Enix will show off their next gen MMO currently known as ‘Rapture’ at this years E3 event scheduled for June.

New information on this new project has been extremely lacking in the past few years since its announcement. The only bit of information that we do know was divulged to us during out talk with Ganiman after this years premier site summit in which Sage Sundi had mentioned a few things over dinner.

We also know that they plan to release this game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

A few weeks ago we had reported that someone had received the Kenkonken H2H weapon for PUP. It seems that report was false. Someone had found out how to view the cut scene in which you obtain the weapon. However today we have some more believable news and some more information about mythic acquisition.

In a recent interview conducted by 1UP.com, Final Fantasy XI Producer Hiromichi Tanaka was asked about the possibility of a version of FFXI for the PlayStation 3. Most of you may know that when the PS3 originally launched, that certain models were compatible with PlayStation 2 software. Since then, Sony has abandoned the idea of backwards compatibility for the PS3. Tanaka had this to say about a PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XI.
